ACTIVITIES

4 x 4 GYMKHANA

Get your team, with a map, in the off road mode with challenging and interesting team exercises - 2h 30 min. Vehicles are provided. The client can also use his/her own 4 x 4. The gymkhana can be used as a fun activity or as part of a team building process. The process has no risks, but it is still exciting enough to offer some challenges.

DESCRIPTION

A team consisting of 4 to 7 members is allocated to a vehicle. The team consists of a driver, navigator and team members. The team receives a map with instructions and the team then has to follow a route. Along the way the team takes part in certain activities. Some are based on teamwork and some are based on individual actions. Drivers can change according to need. The team is evaluated according to a mark sheet and the marker accompanies the team.

CONTENTS

Items that form part of the gymkhana are as follow: (Items can be left out or added according to need and time available)

Item 1 – Tarzan & Jane – The whole team must do rope walking for a distance without falling of. Time is taken

Item 2 – Bridge too Far – The vehicle must be indicated over a small bridge by the navigator

Item 3 –Canyon Cross - The team must plan and build a bridge over a small donga. The vehicle must cross successfully

Item 4 – Stone Put – Team members receives a small – and medium sized stone each, and they must throw the stones in a drum from the vehicle, whilst on the move

Item 5 – Top Gun – Team members must shoot on a target with catapults.

Item 6 – Hop Skip & Jump– The team must take the vehicle through a “minefield”, represented by flat cones, without touching the “mines” and without talking. Only sounds and whistles are allowed. Driver & Navigator are blindfolded.

Item 7 – Balance Challenge – Two team members has to balance cold drink tins on top of one another, whilst the vehicle moves over an uneven area.

Item 8 – Mole’s Nightmare – The driver is blindfolded and the navigator must navigate the team through an obstacle

Item 9 – Tyre Challenge – The team gets a tyre that must be steered by two sticks. It is a time trial where the tyre has to be steered through cones (zig zag).

QUAD/ECO BUG CHALLANGE

GENERAL

The activity can be used as a fun activity or as part of a team building process. The process has low risks, but it is still exciting enough to offer some challenges. Groups from 6 to 40 can be accommodated.

DESCRIPTION

The exercise consists out of a gymkhana with team activities. The team is evaluated according to a mark sheet and the marker accompanies the team. The duration is ± 2 hrs.

GYMKHANA

It starts from a fixed point, follows a circular route and ends at the same point. It includes certain activities such as, throwing a stone in a bucket on the move (Stone Put), balancing a small bucket filled with water, above the head, without spilling (Cascades), Ketty shooting(Top Gun), zig zagging through markers (Zig Zag),balancing the quad on a balance beam(Balance Challenge), and frisbee target throw from the vehicle.

RAFT BUILDING AND RAFTING

A very good team item “Cape to Rio Raft Challenge” Plan and build your own raft and put it to the test. Equipment is provided. Delegates have to plan a raft on paper and get it authorised. Thereafter the raft has to be built in a given time. The structure has to be authorised before flotation commences. The raft is then put to water and they have to row over the dam. On the other side teams receive a riddle to decipher. The teams row back over the dam and have to dismantle the raft. Life jackets are provided. Five people are allowed on the raft at a time. Four sets are available. This is a very good team exercise. – 1 hr 30 min to 2 hrs

Lessons – Teamwork, planning, creativity, communication, time schedules, and trust in your product, accuracy, having fun.

ABSEILING

Also called “Cliff Hanger”. - For the more adventurous. Sail down 20 to 40 m cliffs and get the adrenalin going. This depends on availability of abseiling facilities at the venue. Two lines can be provided - ± 2 hrs.

Lessons – Adrenaline, overcome fear, self-confidence, new skill, trust your own ability.

SURVIVOR - LOST

An excellent team event. Be innovative in your survival techniques – Do what you can, with what you have. Groups get a survival kit and instructions. It consist of all or some of making a snare, building of a shelter, making a fire, tracking (where possible), nature quiz, purifying water, catching fish, building a small raft – 2 hrs.

Lessons – Teamwork, creativity, communication, trust, initiative, team spirit, think outside box.

ARCHERY

A very popular and interesting team competition. If you can hit the yellow dot try to hit the buck or the balloon. Delegates are shown how to shoot followed by an instructional round, practise rounds and one or two competition rounds. Six sets are available – 1 h 30 min to 2 hrs.

Lessons – Having Fun, team spirit, new skill, focus, concentration.

PAINT BALL

Look mean and tough and sort out your opponent. The only way you can enjoy being shot at. Two teams compete against one another in two or more exercises, Killer exercise, steal the other team’s flag exercise and an open exercise where the game stops with the last one standing – 1 h 30 min to 2 hrs.

KETTY SHOOTING

Those were the days. Become young again. It is based on the same as the archery. Six sets are available. Targets are plastic coloured bottles. Stones form the ammunition and different shooting positions are used – 1 hr (Normally in conjunction with archery) – can also be incorporated in other events)

Lessons – Having fun, new skill.

MAP AND COMPASS TANGO

Find your way with a challenging experience. It starts with a short lecture and then teams have to walk on a few legs to different points, as accurately as possible. At the end teams receive a questionnaire to complete from the map. The exercise ends with an activity where direction and distance to an object has to be guessed. – 1 hr 30 min to 2 hrs.

Lessons – Team work, trust, having fun, accuracy, sense of direction.

REMOTE CONTROLLED CARS

Put your remote controlled 4 x 4 to the test on a challenging and daring track. It consists of two to three parts that can be done in rotation or one after the other. A speed exercise over a distance where time is taken, an obstacle exercise where they have to manoeuvre over bridges, balancing beams, minefield etc. - 1 hr 30 min

Lessons - This is a very tactical and a good planning and communication exercise, focus, concentration, having fun, new skill.

WARRIOR

This activity is a paintball game based on a war game with the elements of planning, strategizing, and deception and outwitting. The group is divided into two opposing teams. The exercise has one mission and that is to steal the opponent’s flag.

Each team receives a mission with guidelines, boundaries, and time arrangements with equipment such as jackets, paintball guns, etc. Time is given to create a war plan, which includes elements such as how to utilize resources, approach routes, attack plan, defense plan, deception tricks etc.

The playing field is open. Each team has a flag in the base that must be in the possession of the other team before there is a winner. Marshals to ensure a fair outcome will monitor the exercise.

Lessons - Teamwork, creativity, strategizing, initiative, leadership, communication, adaptability, goal setting, achieving goals, and time management.

PULSE RANGER

No loud shots, no sore bodies, no paintballs. It works on a principle of safe laser beams that is projected to the opponent’s helmet. It has no effect on the environment and was developed to be an eco friendly alternative. The guns make a sound when fired. This is played the same as paintball games. This is a very interesting and fun event – Duration – 1 to 2 hrs.

AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY MINUTES

Visit a country, do an activity known to the country and have a drink used in that country. Each point represents a country. Soft drinks or snacks known to that country can also be used. It is normally done late afternoon or during a meal.

Lessons: Having fun, competition spirit, team spirit and communication.

AMAZING ACTIVITIES

It is a combination of activities consisting of fun-, think- and team support exercises. Activities such as untie me, paintball target shooting, Creative Building, Tube Juggle, Traffic Jam, building a mini raft, River Bank etc. – Interesting!

Lessons – Teamwork, adrenalin, chance, time management, planning, cunning, having fun

CREATIVE BUILDING

Teams are issued with 50 to 150 small planks each. They have to build anything from a tower, car, house, a portrait in certain given times. Everyone has to partake and the teams with highest, biggest, best and most used planks are the winners

Lego Building is also available

LOW ROPES

It can only be done where a course is present. This is an excellent team exercise to practise a lot of dimensions. Serious team building can be done as well as fun activities. Duration - 1 to 4 hours.

Lessons – Planning, Problem solving, self-confidence, group work, trust, communication, interpersonal skills, leadership, etc.

LASER CLAY PIGEON

No loud shots, no sore shoulders. Test your shooting skills on a clay pigeon. This is a very interesting and fun event – Duration – 1 to 2 hrs.

MOUNTAIN BIKES

It can be used for leisure or as a team activity It can also be used as part of other activities –

FRISBEE GOLF

Play golf with a Frisbee. It is played on the same principle as golf. Instead of a hole it is a marked circle. It can also include things like longest drive, closest to the hole, hole in one etc.

BROOMBALL SOCCER

It is a soccer game played with grass brooms. The ball is kicked by the “broom”. The team with the highest score wins

INCENTIVES

It is another form of team building. Incentive packages can be tailor-made according to need. The main focus is in the Dinokeng area. Packages can include, quad rides, elephant rides, micro Light flips, horse trails, ballooning, 4x4 trails, visit to lion camp, wellness, culture tours, and more

DRUMMING

Learn synergy the African way. Learn to play a few beats and put it all together in an amazing ensemble. We can do up to 40 delegates.

SLOT CARS

Little cars controlled on a racing track by a remote. Race against your opponent. Better for small groups and as a rain plan.

A-MAZING RACE

Done in own or hired vehicles, we try our best to keep it as close to what people have seen on TV. We set teams off in 10 minute intervals, amid waving flags, lots of well wishes and a good dose of music supplied by our DJ! (Duration: Min 3.5 hrs)

MYSTERY RALLY

A simpler version of the above. Here the mystery is the destination. Armed with a navigation manual, cryptic clues and plenty of savvy, teams must keep their heads about them in order not to get themselves lost! (Duration: Min 3 hrs)

SURVIVOR QUEST

Based on the hit TV show, we stay as close to format as possible, except we don’t do the negative vote thing. Tribes get to do some of the challenges they have seen their heroes do on TV and without doubt our winner challenge has to be the ‘Skull Swing’! (Duration: Min 3 hrs)

GEO-CACHING

Done on foot or in vehicles, or even a maritime version, it’s GPS navigation at its best. Teams must discover the ‘caches’ in order to piece the bits of the mystery co-ordinate together. Then there are tasks to be completed as well, but if teams fail, they do have bribe money! (Duration: Min 3 Hrs)

SCAVENGER HUNT

Get cryptic clues, visit different points, collect something to prove you were there and end up somewhere where you can enjoy a sundowner, or a cruise or ????. 2 to 4 hours.

SIZZLING SIX

It is like a mixed grill. Six interactive activities – Foosball, Paintball Target shoot, Laser clay Pigeon, Eco Bugs, Computer golf, Brain Trust. 3 to 4 hr and a max of 60 pax.

EVENING ENTERTAINMENT

MUSICAL TRIVIAL PURSUIT: A musical quiz with a difference. Tables play for ‘funny money’ in various categories, all about music of course and the team that makes the most money, wins the prizes up for grabs! To date our most successful and most presented program. The Musical Trivial Pursuit can be done over dinner, as well. (Duration: Min 2.5 Hrs)

LINE DANCE – Line dance on different music. Feel the thrill. 1 hr

Karaoke, Boogey Bodies, Murder Evenings, Motivational Speakers etc can be organised on request.

OTHER ACTIVITIES/ICE BREAKERS

Untie Me – Two people stand opposite each other and both are linked with a rope that is tied at the wrists. They have to come loose without taking the rope from their wrists – Planning, initiative, communication.

Marble run – Delegates stand in a line each holding a 30 cm channel iron. One person must feed marbles from a fixed point and the marbles must be channeled on the channel iron without dropping any of the marbles. The marbles must go into a bucket a few paces away. They must get as many marbles into the bucket in a given time – Team work cooperation, competition spirit.

Cascades – Delegates have to fill a 1 m pvc pipe full of holes with water. Each team gets a bucket to fill the pipe. At the bottom of the pipe is a ping pong ball. They must now close the holes with everything they can, like fingers hands, toes, and fill the pipe until the ball comes out. The pipe must be in an upright position. Time is taken – Competition, team work, fun

Traffic Jam – Only works for groups with even numbers. Two group stands in a line facing each other. Each one stands in a hoola hoop. In the middle is an open hoola hoop. The two teams must pass each other so that the one team stands in the hoola hoops of the other team. Certain rules apply – Brainteaser, communication, planning, problem solving, and team work.

Tug of War – Best out of three pulls is the winner

Rope work – Teams must each hold onto a rope and make certain figures, such as a square, circle, figure 8, tri angle etc. No one is allowed to shift their hands on the rope. It can be done blindfolded also – planning, trust, communication, listening skills. It also includes rope set up like a spider’s web. Members must go from one side to the other side, through the holes without touching the rope. When a hole is used, it is closed – Team support.

Tube Challenge – Tubes must be shifted between three markers. Tubes lie on top of each other at the starting point and is marked from 1 at the top to 5 at the bottom. The tubes must all end up at the third marker in the same order. A bigger number can’t lie on top of a lesser number – planning, team work, communication

Toxic Waste – Use ropes to throw a bucket filled with mealies into another empty bucket. No one is allowed to enter the circle around the bucket – planning and teamwork

River Bank – All members stand on one side of a rope witch forms the river bank. The other side of the rope is a river. The facilitator calls either river or bank. If a member jumps to the wrong side, he or she is out. It caries on until one member is left – The Champion.

Nail Challenge – Delegates have to balance 16 nails on top of an upright nail fixed in wood.

4 X 4 TRAINING/ROUTES

We offer basic to advanced training to individuals or companies. There is a choice of eco routes, varying in difficulty. Clients use own vehicles to drive on the routes.
